After suffering from a herniated disc, Elena discovered the Pilates Method and came to realize quickly that Pilates is much more than just PT for the back. Not only was she able to gain stability and strength in her “problem area”, she felt muscles in her body of which she barely knew. This discovery led to the development of a completely new body awareness….. on the mat as well as in daily life. She deepened her knowledge while participating in a Certification Program for mat and machines with Joanna Mountifiled (who is recongnized by the German Pilates Association) as well as continuing edication workshops with various Teachers and Educators.
Since 2004 Elena practizes Ashtanga Yoga and teaches dynamic Yoga in various studios around Berlin. In addition to her daily Yoga practice she broadens her knowledge by participating in workshops and teacher trainings with teachers such as Richard Freemann, Nancy Gilgoff, Chuck Miller und Maty Ezraty.
